About PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS ping

Test your PUBG ping from the browser. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS lets you pick your server region in the lobby, and the one you choose sets your latency for every shot, lean and loot grab. This tool probes a cloud endpoint beside each PUBG region — NA, SA, EU, AS, SEA and RU — and ranks them by round-trip time so you can pick the fastest before you queue.

PUBG ping guide: excellent under 40 ms · good under 70 ms · playable under 110 ms · rough past 180 ms.

Methodology

How this maps to in-game PUBG ping

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS runs on AWS, with a lobby in us-east-1 and session servers spread across geo-distributed regions. You pick your region in the lobby, so this test probes a cloud endpoint beside each PUBG region (AS, SEA, NA, SA, EU, RU) over HTTPS and ranks by round-trip time. RU historically runs from a Moscow datacenter, so its Stockholm proxy is the loosest fit in the set — read it as approximate.

FAQ

PUBG ping — frequently asked

What is a good ping for PUBG?
Under 40 ms is excellent and under 70 ms is good. PUBG stays competitive to about 110 ms, but past that, hit registration and peeker's advantage start to hurt in firefights. Pick the region with the lowest ping that still fills lobbies for your mode.
Which PUBG server should I choose?
The lowest-ping region below that has a healthy player pool for your mode and time of day. After the region merge, PUBG groups players into broad buckets (AS, SEA, NA, SA, EU, RU), so the nearest one isn't always the fastest — measure it.
Why did PUBG merge its server regions?
Krafton merged smaller regions in 2024 to cut matchmaking times, then split North and South America back apart after the combined AMER bucket pushed South American pings over 170 ms. The current set is AS, SEA, NA, SA, EU and RU.
Why is my in-game PUBG ping different from this test?
PUBG sends UDP to AWS-hosted servers; browsers can't send that, so this test fires HTTPS probes to the nearest AWS region instead. Expect a few ms of extra TCP/TLS overhead, but the ranking of regions matches what you'll see in the lobby.

How this maps to in-game ping

Real game traffic is UDP; browsers can't open raw sockets. We probe AWS S3 regional endpoints (anycast-free HTTPS) and map each Valve SDR PoP to its nearest AWS region by great-circle distance. Expect ~5–15 ms TCP+TLS overhead vs in-game UDP, but the relative ordering of regions tracks closely.

Confidence: medium-high

Strong for relative ranking and choosing a region. Absolute numbers carry HTTPS overhead. Coverage is sparse in some places (mainland CN, parts of RU/ME) — those regions show rather than a misleading number.
